Screen East announces Short Film Funding Scheme

Screen East has just announced the launch of a new short film scheme for film makers in the East of England.
The Digital Shorts scheme partners the UK Film Council New Cinema Fund to enable filmmaking talent to make short digital films with professional support. Screen East will be seeking out the most innovative and talented filmmakers in the East of England, who can demonstrate they have a fresh approach to filmmaking. Films can be of any genre within live action fiction, animation and documentary.
Seven projects will be chosen for development and only five of those will be produced. All films will have a cash budget of up to £12500.
Sam Burton, Screen East Talent Executive, will be touring the region to promote the 2009/2010 Scheme.
At different venues, he will show a selection of films and talk about the new scheme, deadlines, how to apply and what they are looking for.
