Short film, After Tomorrow, is nominated for a Palme d’Or in the Short Film Official Selection at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.
After Tomorrow is written and directed by Emma Sullivan, and produced by Annalise Davis from Wilder Films. Executive produced by Sam Burton, Talent Executive at Screen East who commissioned the film as part of the Screen East Digital Shorts scheme. The scheme partners the UK Film Council New Cinema Fund to enable emerging talent to make short digital films with professional support.
The short is about a man who grows concerned when the sinister owner of the guest house in his estranged wife village refuses to let him leave. A psychological suspense with a surprising yet moving denouement. The film stars Joseph Mawle, famed for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in The Passion (Red Riding Ch4, Persuasion ITV, Clapham Junction Ch4) and Kika Markham (Franklyn, Longford, Wonderland)
After Tomorrow will represent the UK, competing against The Six Dollar Fifty Man (New Zealand), Larsog Peter (Denmark), Rumbo A Peor (Spain), Missen (The Netherlands), L’Homme A La Gordin (France), Ciao Mama (Croatia), Klusums (Latvia) and Arena (Portugal).
The film will have its world premiere with a blue carpet gala screening on Saturday 23rd May.
